1/2-1 tsp coconut oil
1 tbsp nut butter
1/2-1 tsp maple syrup
I really like to minimize my use of microwave ovens, but for this recipe it has not turned out right on the stovetop yet.
Microwave the nut butter until it is very warm to touch in a cup. Spoon coconut oil into peanut butter and do not mix. Microwave for about 10 seconds–until oil is melted. Stir and microwave again for 10 seconds. Add maple syrup, stir and drizzle over the popcorn. Toss popcorn and add cacao powder over popcorn, then toss again.
I highly recommend purchasing an air popper if you like to eat popcorn. Microwave popcorn has many negative effects on your health. It has chemicals in the bag that pop the corn as well as chemicals that make microwave popcorn taste buttery. Cooking popcorn on the stovetop requires oil so an air popper also reduces your intake of oils!
